When ripping audio CDs, the output files may have ambiguous names, which make it impossible to figure out a file's corresponding song. MP3 Reverse Entropy can fix this problem. Instead of relying on external information sources, the software uses available details, like file or folder names or tag information. Also, it places various tools at your disposal, which can help you rename your songs easier.

MP3 Reverse Entropy is available as a freeware application, for Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8. It can be installed in a few moments, without going through a lengthy and complicated process. The application doesn't use too many resources and you don't have to meet any special requirements.

The user interface displays your local folders and audio files just like a standard explorer window. When selecting a file, the artist's name, album title and other details will appear in the lower region of the window. You may click several options, located on a toolbar, if you wish to use the names of the files in the artist or title entries. A selected file's track number, artist and title can be modified manually, on a separate window, but you can also use a few automated tools, to capitalize each word, all characters, stand-alone letters and so on.

The software provides a string replacer as well, which can be used to find and replace specific parts from a file's name. What's more, MP3 Reverse Entropy includes a vast range of predefined replacement profiles, for popular artists or words that are usually spelled wrong. Another feature, which is definitely worth mentioning, is the possibility of renaming audio files, using the playlist found on an album's cover image. MP3 Reverse Entropy's built-in OCR engine can extract the song names from a CD's cover and apply them on your audio files.

Pros

MP3 Reverse Entropy places a good number of renaming tools at your disposal. It allows you to manually edit a file's name, use automated function to capitalize titles, find and replace specific strings and more. Also, the software comes with a built-in OCR feature, to extract song names from an album's cover image.

Cons

You may need some time to get used to MP3 Reverse Entropy's controls. If you are not satisfied with your audio CD ripper's results, you can use MP3 Reverse Entropy to fix the file names right away.
